Wolf Moon

04 Feb 2010

Last Friday evening after work I took advantage of the Wolf Moon and got what I consider are some decent shots.  January 29 was the biggest and brightest full moon of 2010.  You can read more about the Wolf Moon here.

I shot this with my Canon 100-400mm lens (640mm effective), cropped it, and adjusted the color in post to bring out the details.

Great picture! Sharper than any I’ve taken. I’m a fan of pictures of the moon, and I think it’s great that you captured the Wolf Moon. :)

Great photo Philip! How long of an exposure did you use?

Thanks for the kind words, everybody!
Joel, I shot that at 1/125 at f/11, ISO 100. The image stabilization on my lens really helped to get a clear image.
This shot was hand-held. I also tried using a tripod but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference.
