Here’s a cool texture that I shot today. I processed this in black and white to draw the eye to the texture without being distracted by color.

Wolf Moon

Last Friday evening after work I took advantage of the Wolf Moon and got what I consider are some decent shots. January 29 was the biggest and brightest full moon of 2010. You can read more about the Wolf Moon here.

I shot this with my Canon 100-400mm lens (640mm effective), cropped it, and adjusted the color in post to bring out the details.

My two little sisters, Rhoda and Janetta were skating on Friday. After getting home from work I was ready to relax, so I instinctively reached for my camera. I was playing around with panning the camera as they skated by. These aren’t great shots, but they were really my first try ever at panning.

First Snow

We had our first real snow of the season on November 5th. I had the day off so I went for a short walk over to the pond and back. By the time I returned, it had warmed up and the snow had mostly turned to rain.

Sunday Afternoon Sunshine

The sun was shining, making the trees quite brilliant.

I love the Birch trees contrasting with the oranges and yellows.

Sunlight shining through the trees along Litchfield Road.

I went back over to the pond around supper time, and the sun had just come out. The foliage was beautiful!
